Day 2: to Tandsjöborg
We started relatively early to cover some distance before lunch. Heading north and then we took a short cut which meant we ended up driving about 70 km on a gravel road. But it was a very nice road, through the woods and beside lakes. We stopped for lunch at one lake where it was possible to go for a swim. In the middle of bath and BBQ a bike rolled in on the parking lot, a bike with a trailer! It was a guy who was biking from Northcape back home to the Netherlands, quite a distance! He was very glad to see us, the opening phrase was "You made my day! First I saw a helicopter and now a Mini! I´ve got a Mini back home!". After some pics, foos and bath we hit the road again, now heading for Mora where we planned to meet some swedish Minis heading for ....North cape!
We were a bit early so we had an icecream and sat down waiting for 20 minutes or so. Then 5 Minis rolled in on the parking lot by the harbour in Mora. The planned a stop for 30 minutes, having some coffee and chatting with us and a local Miniac who I phoned. The Northcape minis had started the day 400 km south of Mora in Ulricehamn and todays goal was Östersund 300 km north of Mora, quite a distance for a day in Mini. We decide this was to much for us so we took farewell and wished them good driving. We did some shopping in Mora (Micke had forgotten to pack several thing of the camping gear....) and then headed north for about 100 km until we found a campsite in Tandsjöborg, just north of Noppikoski. Beatifully situated just beside a lake. We had an evening meal and then got in tent for a night of good sleep. NOT! We had forgotten all about the mosquitos! The mesh in the tent mananged to keep the big ones out but the smalled ones just flew right in! Not much sleep that night.....
